There are a lot of opinions about what “church” should be. When you stop and look at what the story of the Bible says about it, it looks a lot different than what we usually see today. Bible StoryBoards can help you understand that story the Bible tells and what’s really important to God about “His Church.”
Our 15 StoryBoards take you through the bottom line story of God and man that the Bible tells – from Genesis to Revelation. It’s the amazing story of God’s pursuit of a relationship with us, and how we haven’t made it easy for Him.
StoryBoards 12 and 13 talk about the years after Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. During this time in biblical history (which continues today!) we see two truths that changed the world and our lives.
- Because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, the Holy Spirit – a part of God Himself – now lives inside everyone who has accepted forgiveness through Jesus. We no longer have to go to a temple or holy place to connect with God. He is with us and in us, forever. So whenever we gather with other believers, and wherever we gather, He is there with us, in us. (StoryBoard 12)
- Jesus asked His followers to tell everyone what He has done for us. In order to help us do that, He wants us to stay closely connected to other believer as we also connect with the lost world around us. As “His Church,” we are to live life with other believers who live near us, gathering to eat together, pray together, study the Word together, hold each other accountable to walk worthy, sing together, worship together, serve those in need together, reach out to the lost together. (StoryBoard 13)
That’s what the church is supposed to be about – believers living lives of love together and with the lost world around them.
