We want to help you get the most out of Bible StoryBoards, not just for a day but for years to come. Our hope is that it will become something you regularly use and benefit from.
Here are five things that can help you get the most out of Bible StoryBoards:
Step 1 – Begin with the Bible StoryBoard Basics
We recommend that everyone start with the basics. Make it your first priority to become familiar with the key word and big idea behind each of our fifteen pictures. Our primary resources (Bible StoryBoards.com, and our Bible StoryBoards book) can help you understand and learn these basics. The flashcards can also help with memorizing.
For example, here are the first three StoryBoards with their key words and big ideas.
Key word: Beginnings
Big Idea: God creates a perfect world to share with mankind.
Key word: Sin
Big Idea: Man messes up and paradise is lost.
Key word: Chosen People
Big Idea: God launches His salvation plan to bring imperfect people back into a relationship with Him.
Step 2 – Use the Pictures to Help You Remember the Key Words, Big Ideas, and Storyline
Let the pictures of each StoryBoard remind you of the story behind the picture. Focus on learning the main ideas, not the actual words.
Pictures help us remember things. Even without memorizing what happened on a vacation, we remember what happened when we look at the pictures. Bible StoryBoards can do the same for you as you try to remember and share the story of the Bible.
Step 3 – Start Sharing What You’re Learning with Others
One of the best ways to learn something is to share it. Teach it to someone else. That someone could be a Christ-follower or not. As you start to share it, you’ll soon see that people everywhere are interested in understanding what the Bible is all about.
And you’ll benefit too. Every time you share the storyline of the Bible with others, the story will become more deeply ingrained in your own mind, and your heart, and your life.
Here are three simple ways the Bible StoryBoards pictures can help you share the story of the Bible with others:
- You can download and use our 15 Bible StoryBoards pdf file. Once you load the Bible StoryBoard pictures on your phone, iPad, Kindle, or tablet, you will be ready whenever the opportunity arises to share the story of the Bible. (Click here)
- You can draw the StoryBoards. Yes it will take you a little more work to memorize the order and learn how to draw the StoryBoards, but you can do it! Even if you’re not a great artist. And if you want help, we have some tips on drawing the pictures on our website. And we’ve also put together 15 video clips of a non-artist drawing each StoryBoard. (Click here)
- You can make flashcards of each StoryBoard or a grid of them all together. We have both black & white and color versions of the fifteen pictures. You have our permission to use them to make flashcards for sharing the story of the Bible with others. Or if you wish, we’ve made it easy for you to get these flashcards as a PDF file, ready to print. You can get this resource by clicking here.
Step 4 – Dig Deeper Into the Storyline by Expanding Your Learning
At this point, if you’ve followed Steps 1-3, you should have a pretty good understanding of the basic storyline of the Bible. But don’t stop there. There’s still more to learn. Behind each picture is a deeper storyline about God and man. It’s a story that will help you grow in your understanding of who God is and what it means to walk with Him as you Dig Deeper. And it will help you be better prepared to share the story with others.
The Bible Storyboards book adds more knowledge to the basic outline the key words and big ideas provide. Each chapter gives you additional facts, insights, and applications that will not only teach you more, but help you grow to become the person God designed for you to be. Once you have the basics, build on them and watch God transform your life.
Step 5 – Intentionally Help Others Learn the Story of the Bible
If you help others learn what the story of the Bible is all about, you’ll be doing exactly what the Lord commanded all of His followers to do – make disciples. That process starts by simply helping people understand the bottom line story of God and man that the Bible tells.
Do you know someone who doesn’t know or understand the storyline of the Bible? Our guess is that you do. What you learn through Bible StoryBoards can benefit others as much as it can benefit you.
So what are you waiting for? Can your family benefit from what you’re learning? What about your friends; neighbors; co-workers; classmates? If you are a follower of Christ, God has called you to make disciples. And that begins by lovingly and courageously sharing the amazing story of God’s love for us that the Bible tells. Bible StoryBoards can help you do that. Will you?
